An aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa, has described as unfair the purported decision to halt the projects initiated by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his hometown of Owo.

Akinterinwa said that one of the ways to honour the late Akeredolu was for the projects he started before his demise to be continued and completed.

The former Commissioner for Finance stressed this in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Council of the state, during a campaign tour to the ancient community, where the residents expressed their dissatisfaction over the abandoned projects in the town.

Akinterinwa, who was received by the people of Owo and the political structure of the late Akeredolu, vowed to complete the projects if elected as governor.

He said: “I have heard that the contractors’ equipment had been taken away. I will continue where Aketi stopped in Owo. Whatever Aketi wanted to do for Owo but couldn’t do, we will accomplish it.

“It’s unfair for someone who claimed to be loyal to him and took over from him to come and halt all projects in Owo.”Chairman of the APC in Owo, Samuel Balogun, described the governorship aspirant as a loyal supporter and follower of the late Akeredolu.

Also, the Coordinator of Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation in Owo, Fatai Lawal Olushina, who thanked Akinterinwa for his unwavering support for Aketi during challenging times, said that the people of Owo and the political family of the late governor would always stand by him.
