The Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. (Arc.) Setonji Koshoedo has described the late Olubadan, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, as a unique Oba in the annals of Ibadan Obaship history.

This description was conveyed in Hon. Koshoedo’s condolence message to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Oyo State on the passage of the revered monarch at the age of 81.

According to Koshoedo, the monarch’s uniqueness stems from his capability to efficiently and successfully combine activities in the areas of business, academia, politics, culture and his private life and yet triumphed unscathed in all.

Hon Koshoedo described the passing as a big loss, not only to Ibadan people but also to Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

He prayed for the repose of the monarch’s soul and urged the Governor and the people of Ibadan land to take solace in the successes recorded during Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun’s short but highly impactful tenure as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.

He also prayed that the soul of the passing of His Imperial Majesty rest in perfect peace.
