Late Olojoda of Oda Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Julius Omomo

A monarch in Akure South Local Council Area of Ondo State, the Olojoda of Oda Kingdom, Oba Julius Omomo, joined his ancestors a few months after his ascension to the throne.

The monarch who passed away at the age of 83 was installed on May 30, 2023, following the demise of the previous traditional ruler of the community.

He died nine months after his installation as the monarch of the community.

Omomo was installed as Olojoda to replace his predecessor, the late Oba Bamidele Akosile after many years in an interregnum.

Mourning the demise of the monarch, some residents of the town stressed that, with the short reign of the monarch, the Oda community and the council area witnessed development.

Confirming the demise of the monarch, Prince Ade Adelakun described the deceased monarch as a decent and down-to-earth traditional ruler.

According to Adelakun, the concern of the late monarch while on earth was not only the unity and progress of his community but also the state, adding that his few years of reign were eventful.
