The Lagos State government has received the car driven by Pelumi Nubi from London to Lagos on Sunday.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Oloruntoyin Atekoja, disclosed that the car was received at J Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Onikan, Lagos Island.

Nubi embarked on a solo trip from London to Lagos, Nigeria and arrived in Lagos on the 7th of April, 2024 and was given a grand welcome reception by the Lagos State Government.

The vehicle will serve as an iconic tourism asset to be kept in the museum for historical purposes, according to Atekoja.

Atekoja said the governor is pleased with Pelumi for taking such a bold step, stressing that her resilient spirit to survive against all odds is an inspiration worthy of being emulated.

“This is the reason the State Government has given its unwavering support to her as well as making her a ‘Lagos Tourism Ambassador”.

She appreciated Pelumi’s parents for supporting her on the journey and encouraging her resilient strength as a woman to embark on such a journey.

Atekoja also advised other women to emulate her resilient spirit and not just drive cars but drive positive change in their societies and homes.
