In the early hours of Tuesday, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service successfully saved two adult males from a fire outbreak at Victory Bay, Ikota Housing Estate, Ajah, Lagos.
An eyewitness reported that the incident took place around 3:30 a.m. The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that the situation was swiftly brought under control, with the fire extinguished by 9 a.m.
According to Adeseye, the emergency alert was received at 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday. The incident involved a shanty-style building, comprising four rooms on each floor within the estate.
Upon the arrival of the Lekki Phase II Fire crew from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the victims were successfully rescued, though they sustained varying degrees of burns, with the assistance of community members.
Subsequently, the victims were attended to by the Lagos State Ambulance Service before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.
