Niger: Police start investigation into assassinate of FUTMinna lecturer

The Niger Whisper Police Issue has launched investigations into the circumstances in the help of the killing of a lecturer with the Federal University of Technology (FUTMinna), Mrs Adefolalu Funmilola, by unidentified other folks.

It became gathered that the lecturer became murdered at home in Gbaiko assign of Minna on Sunday.

DAILY POST learned that the deceased, an accomplice professor from the department of biochemistry of the institution, became expected to be promoted to professor earlier than the cease of 2023.

He explained that on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at about 10am some chums of Mrs Adefolalu, a lecturer at FUTMinna, visited her situation in Gbaiko Dwelling of Minna due to the her inability to salvage her on the mobile phone.

“Unfortunately, on getting to the home, the guests met her lying in a pool of her possess blood with marks of damage on her body.”

He acknowledged that two knives with blood stains suspected to were dilapidated to stab her by unknown individual(s) were recovered from the scene.

Abiodun added that the body became taken to IBB Clinic, Minna, where she became confirmed unnecessary, including that the wretched incident is under investigation

Additionally, when contacted, the chairman of the Academic Crew Union of Universities (ASUU), FUTF Minna chapter, Bolarin Gbolahan, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He described assaults being unleashed on academicians as outlandish.

Gbolahan famed that lecturers in Nigeria are turning into an endangered species as they were being kidnapped and killed, attributing it to the yell of insecurity that pervades the nation due to the failure in the machine.
